Principles of EYFS Framework
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and Care of children from birth to 5 years of age.
By applying The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum at Learn and Fun Nursery, we ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. This promotes teaching and learning and gives the children broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
The guiding principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) which shape our learning programme are:
A Unique Child: Every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured
At our nursery we observe, monitor and understand the child’s development and learning, identifying all the child’s needs, requirements for additional support, inclusion, safety, health, well-being.
Positive Relationships: Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.
At our nursery we foster a sense of belonging in your child, and are sensitive and responsive to the child’s needs, feelings and interests. We also support and build the relationship of the Parent with the child. We get to know the child and learn about the values, expectations and the factors that shape his life at home and in community. We encourage and support the child’s own efforts and independence.
Enabling Environments : Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and carers
Learn and Fun Nursery provides a stimulating, extremely well-resourced learning environment to the child with rich learning opportunities. We also provide opportunities for Parents to be involved in their child’s development at the Nursery. We provide learning opportunities through play and playful teaching.
Learning and Development: Children develop and learn in different ways. The framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision, Including children with special needs and disabilities.
Learn and Fun Nursery provides the child challenging, playful opportunities across all the of learning and development. We encourage playing, exploring, learning, creating and creative thinking in a child.
The EYFS Curriculum takes into consideration the individual needs of every child allowing them to grow at their own pace. We at Learn And Fun encourage them to make decisions and share ideas, letting their imagination and interests take the lead.
Children learn most effectively when they are enjoying themselves and are having fun. Hence, we promote ‘Learning through Play’ as children of different ages and stages of development work towards different goals. Children play individually and as a part of a group which helps them develop self-confidence and social skills.
